MISSION STATEMENT
|
MUNICIPAL COURT Mission Statement The mission of the McCaysville Municipal Court is to provide courteous service in an efficient professional manner and to fairly and impartially safeguard the rights of all who come before the court. McCaysville Municipal Court is held on the third Thursday of every month in the McCaysville City Hall, 223 Blue Ridge Drive, McCaysville, Ga 30555 and begins at 5:00PM. You may call the Clerk of Court at (706) 964-4639 to find out the fine amount for your citation. Please allow 72 hours from the time you receive your citation for processing. The office of the Clerk is open Wednesday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. If you received a citation within the city limits of McCaysville, you have until the noted court date to pay the fine or appear in McCaysville Municipal Court on that date. If you fail to pay your fine or appear in Court, a warrant for your arrest will be issued and an additional Contempt of Court fine will be accessed and your Driver's License will be suspended. The Judge of Municipal Court allows many violations to be paid prior to your scheduled court date. This is referred to by the court as posting a cash bond. However, if you received more than one citation and any of those citations are for a Mandatory Appearance you will be required to come to Court. Any Citation that can be paid by posting a cash bond must be paid by 3:00PM of the assigned court date at the Clerk of the Court location in person, at 163 Blue Ridge, Drive McCaysville, Ga (inside the Police Dept.) or by phone (706)964-4639 using a debit or credit card, or on line using the city web page. No Cash is accepted, you can purchase a money order in the Post Office next door to the Clerks office. COURT APPEARANCE IN MANDATORY FOR THE FOLLOWING OFFENSES:- DUI
- Suspended Driver's License
- No Insurance
- Suspended Tag
- Shoplifting
- Commercial Vehicle Littering
- Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor
- Underage Drinking
- Possession of Alcohol
- Possession of Drugs
- Passing a School Bus
- Speeding in Excess of 25 MPH over the Limit
- Aggressive Driving
- Racing
- Laying Drag
- Accident caused by Unsecured Load
- Attempting to Elude Police
- Animal Cruelty
- Leaving the Scene of an Accident
- Public Indecency
- Any Offense by Someone under 21 Years Old
- Any Offense involving A Motor Vehicle Accident

COURT DRESS CODE

COURT DRESS CODE Dress Code and Rules By order of the Honorable Municipal Court Judge and Chief of Police, the following is the enforced dress code of the McCaysville Municipal Court. Failure to comply with the dress code will result in you being denied immediate access to Municipal Court and having your hearing postponed until the end of the court session. Garment Wear :- You should dress Business Casual.
- All shirts must be tucked within your pants.
- All pants must be worn at the waist.
Restricted Garments: - No Pajamas
- Shorts or Mini Skirts
- Torn Pants
- Tank Tops / No Bare Shoulders
- Halter Tops
- Hats
- Sunglasses
- Wallets with Chains
- Sweat Bands or Doo Rags
- Visible Undergarments
- Garments with inappropriate Graphics or Wording
Electronic Devices: - All Electronic Devices must be turned off or placed on silent mode
- No Cameras or Audio recording devices are allowed within the Municipal Court without prior approval of the Court
